Grand Duke Sergei and Grand Duchess Elizaveta ("Ella") - often called as "the Beast and the Saint" - took custody of the young Grand Duke Dmitri Pavlovich and his sister, Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna (the children of his younger brother Pavel Aleksandrovich) and gave them a good home. |
