The second son of Emperor Nikolai I, Grand Duke Konstantin Nikolaevich, had four male descendants, of whom only one got married. Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich (1858-1915) had six sons, but only one, Prince Ioann Konstantinovich, had issue. The last of the direct male "Konstantinovichi" descendants, Prince Vsevolod Ioannovich (Ivanovich), died in 1973 and this male Romanov line became extinct.
