Biography Notes

 
Tsarevich of Russia 24 April 1865 (NS) after the death of his elder brother Nikolai Aleksandrovich. Reign 1881-1894. Coronation 27 May 1883 (NS), Moskva. Called "Mirotvorets" (Миротворец) = Peace-Maker ("There won't be a war in Europe as long as I'm the Tsar of Russia!").
His kidney injury (of which he eventually died) was caused by a rail accident, as he held the railroad car upright till all the imperial family got out safely.
Also the Chairman of the Danish Royal Bicycle Club ("You are too fat to ride a bicycle, but you can be our Chairman.").
