Biography Notes |
|
Heir to the Throne 1899-1904 After the death of his elder brother Georgi Aleksandrovich.. Nominated as Heir to the Throne 28 Mar 1917 after the abdication of Nikolai II, but renounced the throne 29 Mar 1917 ("Tsar for a day"). Executed in Perm, Siberia, with his secretary Nicholas Johnson. He was the frirst Romanov to be executed by the Bolsheviks.
Some
historians like to call him "Tsar Mihail II". However, as he never officialy accepted the throne, the fact remains that the Romanov rule in Russia ended with Emperor Nikolai II.
