Coat of Arms

Index

All living members of the Romanov Family today are descendants of
Emperor Nikolai I Pavlovich.
The four lines of the Romanov Family have been named after the Emperor's sons:

  • The descendants of Emperor Aleksandr II Nikolaevich (the "Aleksandrovichi")
  • The descendants of Grand Duke Konstantin Nikolaevich (the "Konstantinovichi")
  • The descendants of Grand Duke Nikolai Nikolaevich (the "Nikolaevichi")
  • The descendants of Grand Duke Mihail Nikolaevich (the "Mihailovichi")

Lineage

Sometimes the so-called "Vladimirovichi" (the descendants of Grand Duke Vladimir Aleksandrovich) and the "Pavlovichi" (the descendants of Grand Duke Pavel Aleksandrovich) are listed as separate lineages, although both Grand Dukes are sons of Emperor Aleksandr II.

The claimant to the Throne, Grand Duke Georgi Mihailovich, belongs to the "Aleksandrovich" (or "Vladimirovich") line of the Romanov Family. The head of the Romanov Family Association, Prince Nikolai Romanovich Romanov, belongs to the "Nikolaevichi".
